Co-Managed IT Partnership

Your IT team knows your business better than any outside provider ever will. The problem is rarely skill. It is depth. One or two people cannot cover the help desk, patch every server, run security, finish projects, answer the CFO and still take a vacation. Co-managed IT closes that gap without replacing anyone.

With Sidecar IT, your IT lead stays in charge. You decide what we own, what you keep and how we escalate. We plug into your ticketing and documentation, or share ours, and work like an extension of your department instead of a vendor you have to manage.

Key Benefits

Who this is for

Organizations with roughly 25 to 500 people and one to five internal IT staff: senior living and healthcare operators, manufacturers, professional firms, schools and local government. If your IT manager is the only person who knows the firewall password and has not had a real vacation in two years, this is for you.

What a partnership can include

How we divide the work

Every partnership starts with a responsibility matrix (RACI). It lists each area of IT, who is responsible, who approves and who just needs to know. Your team might keep the line-of-business apps and vendor relationships while we take patching, monitoring and the overnight phone. We revisit the split every quarter as your needs change.

Pricing

Co-managed pricing is a flat monthly amount based on the users and devices we cover and the layers you choose, such as tooling, security operations, help desk hours and after-hours coverage. Projects are quoted up front. See our co-managed pricing guide for what moves the number.

Co-Managed IT Partnership: Frequently Asked Questions

Will co-managed IT replace my IT staff?

No. Co-managed IT only works when you have internal IT people. We add capacity and specialists behind them. If you want to replace your IT department entirely, we are not the right fit.

Who is in charge?

Your IT lead. They set priorities, approve changes and own the relationship with the business. We follow the responsibility matrix you sign off on.

Do we have to use your ticketing system?

No. We can work inside your PSA and documentation, or give your team access to ours at no extra license cost. Many teams start in their own tools and move later.

How fast can we start?

Most partnerships are fully onboarded in about 30 days: access and tooling the first week, documentation and the responsibility matrix next, then live coverage.
